I think, from the style of the marks, that this must date from the mid-19th century. There are two small Danish arsenal marks (initial under crown), one on the shank and one on the muzzle ring. It has Kyhl's leaf-spring system (unique to Denmark) for securing it to the musket, instead of the conventional locking ring.

It has a 19.5" triangular, fullered blade, with 20% trace of what looks like an old browning finish. The internal muzzle ring diameter is 20mm.

I am not familiar with Danish muskets, but can only guess that this must have been for a percussion muzzle loader. This sort of bayonet may well have been used in the Danish war of 1864 against Prussia and Austria.

Sword arrived today. Fabulous. This is an excellent example of a fighting sword of its period, and a real gem. The 1828 Pattern is such a gorgeous sword, and this is a fine example. Even my bride is impressed and she doesn’t really get swords.
