militaria item Pair of patch lock shotgun locks, Lowe of Chester
- English
These locks are a modification of Manton's 1816 patent pellet lock, which was virtually Manton's only serious design failure in what was an amazingly inventive career. They are almost certainly locks for shotguns and are marked 'Lowe of Chester', more than likely Thomas Lowe of Chester, 1792-1834.

militaria item Flintlock side lock for pistol by Thomas Hawley
- English
This lock, just over 12cm long, is a typical example from the era of King Charles II. Thomas Hawley set up shop in London in 1681, producing his proof piece for the Gunmakers' Co then. He was elected Assistant in 1697 and Master of the Gunmakers' Co in 1701. He was Gunmaker to Ordnance 1682-1707, and died in 1719.

testimonials

Just to let you know that the kukri arrived today safe and sound, many thanks for sending it so quickly. I'm more than pleased with this kukri, I'm so glad I spotted it on your website as I don't think I've ever seen another one like it for sale anywhere.

Once again many thanks and I hope to do business with you again in the future.

Swords mattered [arrived?]. I am very content. You still have which good swords for the sale?
