MAGNIFY

This is the holy grail of beer steins! It represents the three years of service of 'Sold.[at] Eggar' (1910-13) with a list of all his fellow crew members in a zeppelin belonging to the 1st Bavarian Airship Detachment. I have had many krugs of a military nature, but never one quite like this. It is marked 'R. Schaller Munchen 2 // Elvira Str[asse].'

The transfer work is beautifully overpainted by hand throughout the piece, all the uniform details being picked out by hand, as well as the list of crew members. There is a lithophane in the base, as you would expect, showing a lady in typical Bavarian costume (ie wearing a dirndl).
