Title Indian 1916 silver coin mounted as a charm for bracelet
Nationality British Empire
Period 1916
Sold

This charm measures barely 3/4 inch across. It is in the shape of the Great War service cap. The mount is copper or brass with a gilt finish. Like the sweetheart brooches of the same era, this was undoubtedly made with T. Atkins' girl in mind. The 3-anna coin was the lowest value silver coin of India in the early 20th century.

The gilt has worn on the surround of the coin itself, but it is otherwise in quite good condition for its age.

Got the medal today. It's a fine medal and I'm very happy with it. Thanks.

Found the item a little on the expensive side and a bit disappointed that you were unwilling to bend a bit on the price of the Officer's Tunic Eagle (half the fun of buying, after all, is the haggling), but impressed by the speed of delivery and the quality of the item. Was well worth it in the long run...
