Good clean example with virtually perfect paintwork and some original lacquer finish to silver frame. This was the basic grade of Iron Cross of which some five million were awarded in WW2. This is not maker marked. The ribbon is a clean, original piece of cotton. Interestingly enough, this particular award is rarely found as a competently made fake. There were a few pieces made in France in the early 1970s from original dies with triple figure identical number maker punches, eg 666. |
