Title Lt Col rank slip-ons, SAS
Nationality British
Period c 1965
Price £45.00

These (10.5 x 6 cms) are the rank slip-ons for the shoulder straps on an officer's summer drill tunic, such as he might wear in the tropics. They have the modern Queen Elizabeth II crown embroidered in black and they appear to be made of a light cotton drill (they are more of a moss green than the rather grey tone in the photos).

The SAS were famous as they emerged from WW2, but really came into their own in the post-war period and currently, of course, see much active service worldwide.

They came from a collector with a set of wings and a stable belt.

testimonials

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)

Many thanks, Chris, once again its been a pleasure doing business!
