Title Small silver Medal for Bravery, Franz Joseph I, with bar for 2nd award
Nationality Austrian
Period 1914-18
Price £60.00

On 29 November 1915, bars were authorised for 2nd, 3rd and 4th awards of the same class of the medal. This was awarded to NCOs and men for bravery in action and was instituted as a medal in 1789 as the Tapferkeitsmedaille. There were several sizes of both silver and gold awards for varying degrees of courage.

The condition is GVF with some contact wear to both sides. The ribbon, although original, is a little on the grubby side and has faded somewhat.

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)

The bayonet arrived safely this morning, it's excellent and exactly what I've been looking for, I'm very pleased with it! ... I've bookmarked your site and will keep a regular check to see what you have.
