Title St Helena medal
Nationality French
Period c 1857

This is the commemorative St Helena medal which Napoleon ordered to be struck and issued to all his veterans on his death. On the reverse is: 'Campagnes de 1792 a 1815' around 'A ses companions de gloire sa derniere pensee St Helene 5 Mai 1821' (the date of his death). A bust of the emperor is on the obverse.

It has a nice chocolate brown patina and what appears to be a piece of watered silk or possibly mercerised cotton ribbon of some age.

The condition is excellent for its age.

The police cutlass exceeded my expectations, it arrived earlier than expected. Thank you very much from a very satisfied customer who will no doubt return.
