Title 3 pork pie tin cockades
Nationality German
Period 1914-18

These were worn on the front of the ORs soft round service caps in WW1, normally together with the national cockade (black/white/red). The colours work as follows: blue/white for Bavaria, black/white for Prussia. Typically, these sort of pieces were looted off caps, possibly as a result of prisoners taken on French raids, etc.

All three measure approximately 2.5cm in diameter, all showing varying degrees of age and service wear, the two Bavarian examples having some rust on the reverse.

The tipstaff arrived today and it's beautiful. I couldn't be more pleased. You're a pleasure to deal with.

Found the item a little on the expensive side and a bit disappointed that you were unwilling to bend a bit on the price of the Officer's Tunic Eagle (half the fun of buying, after all, is the haggling), but impressed by the speed of delivery and the quality of the item. Was well worth it in the long run...
