militaria item Officers' cap cockades (9)
- German
These include two Wurtemburg examples, a Saxon one, a Brunswick one, several Prussian ones and two Reichs kokarden. They were worn (both in peace and war) on the front of the cap to indicate the state of Germany from which the wearer came. The other ranks examples were stitched in place, while these were pinned.

militaria item Prussian artillery officer's helmet cover
- German
This is a near mint example in field grey cloth of an artillery officer's pickelhaube cover, which was introduced mainly for potential war-time service in 1910 when the field grey uniform came into service. It is marked 'DRP' on the inside of the lining, which could be the owner's initials or possibly a maker's mark.

testimonials

My order arrived safely yesterday morning as promised. I'm very pleased with my "new" additions!

Hanger arrived safe and sound 11.30ish today. Very pleased, it's as expected. Your excellent pics make all the difference in terms of confident buying over the net. As a matter of interest, the frog, which as you said is very a/f, is, as you thought, 'spot on'. On closer inspection it is a mk.1 Naval Frog, designated 'for cutlasses'. Date seems around 1860ish give or take.

By the way, I think your site is very user friendly. Seems to work much better than many and up to date, a rarity!!!
