Title Prussian artillery officer's helmet cover
Nationality German
Period c 1907-18
Price £175.00

This is a near mint example in field grey cloth of an artillery officer's pickelhaube cover, which was introduced mainly for potential war-time service in 1910 when the field grey uniform came into service. It is marked 'DRP' on the inside of the lining, which could be the owner's initials or possibly a maker's mark.

The other ranks version had metal hooks to secure it to the helmet and usually a number stitched to the front indicating the unit.

Pro rata, artillery examples are considerably harder to find than infantry.

Just to let you know that the spoon came this morning and I am really pleased with it.

Just a short note to let you know that I have collected the Police fur cap this morning from the Post Office. I am really happy with it, and for sure I will give a thumbs-up to your service. This was the first item I ever bought from you, and I hope it will not be the last.
