Marked on the back of the blade 'Manufacture d'Armes St Etienne 1876'. This was the bayonet carried on their second bolt action black powder rifle through all of France's campaigns in Africa and Indo-China in the latter half of the 19th century before the introduction of the Lebel in 1886. The weapon is clean throughout, but there are no matching numbers and the blue finish on the scabbard has been polished out completely. The grips are nice, with minimal bruising. |
