This has the marks of a factory in Budapest (FG over GY) on one side of the forte and on the other a small Hungarian coat of arms quite lightly struck but clearly visible. It has the oak grips of the later Austrian bayonets, the pre-1914 ones being mostly of fruitwood. It would have had a steel scabbard with a frog stud. There is some medium pitting at the pommel and some lighter pitting on the rest of the hilt. The blade shows service wear, but is still reasonably clean. The locking stud operates. |
