Title KuK 'tinnie' for Archduke Carl Franz Josef
Nationality Austrian
Period 1914-16
Sold

This little badge commemorates Archduke Carl's field service from 1914 to 1916. Typically these badges were sold to raise money for the widows and orphans of the relevant units and were normally worn on the left-hand side of the Austrian field cap. Sometimes as many as six were worn all together.

It is of die-struck pot metal badge and its condition is excellent, with most of the original anodised zinc finish remaining, although there is some wear to the highlights, such as his chin and nose.

The day the blunderbuss arrives I could not stop looking and feeling the gun for at least one hour. My wife told me that I was sick........ I am very happy, it is a piece of craftsmanship! Well made! I have 5 blunderbusses but all iron barrel, also from England but this one is gorgeous with the Brass Barrel.

Please keep me informed when you have any other type of blunderbuss. Thanks my friend!
