This holster, which was for the model 1935 high power Browning, would appear to be have been a captured Belgian (or Dutch?) piece - Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe used this type of holster and, in early photos, I have seen it being worn by German troops during the opening stages of WW2. The name 'Brenner' is inked inside. The leatherwork indicates extremely heavy service wear: some of the stitching on the back has worn away, but it is neatly held together by two rivets. It has certainly seen hell and high water in service! |
