Title Lovell's pattern spring clip for 1842 series muskets
Nationality British
Period c 1840s
Sold

This is the spring clip for the Lovell's bayonet, which fits under the muzzle cap of the weapon. I know it fits both the carbine and rifle, as I had an 1852 rifled sea service musket with bayonet and this clip could be used on that.

I have a number of these for sale (at ?18 each), ex-Eton College armoury. They are all a little bit on the scruffy side, with some surface rust, but are currently sitting in a barrel of WD40. Some have issue stamps, most not, but all good original kit.

Email me if you would like to buy one.
