This WW1-era badge has battle honours going back to the Boer War and the Egyptian campaign of 1882. Formed in London in 1868, the Post Office Rifles saw service on the Western Front in WW1. The badge changed in 1922, when the 7th and 8th Battalions merged and the 7th Battalion badge was worn by both units. This is a die-struck white metal badge, with a nice brazing join where the slider meets the badge itself, and a good hard slider to boot, definitely not a re-strike! |
