Title Selection of Irish officer's buttons, 1881 pattern
Nationality British
Period 19th-20th century
Price £60.00

These buttons are (left to right, top to bottom): Royal Munster Fusiliers, Royal Irish Rifles (I think), Leinster Regiment, Royal Irish Fusiliers, Dublin Fusiliers (QVC), Royal Irish Rifles (blackened version). This is a nice selection, including three of the units which were disbanded in 1922. Makers are variously Pitt, Gaunt, Firmin & Jennens.

The Dublin Fusiliers is a Victorian version.

Only the Royal Irish Fusiliers has virtually all its original finish; the others are a little worn in places, much of the gilding having been polished off.

Hanger arrived safe and sound 11.30ish today. Very pleased, it's as expected. Your excellent pics make all the difference in terms of confident buying over the net. As a matter of interest, the frog, which as you said is very a/f, is, as you thought, 'spot on'. On closer inspection it is a mk.1 Naval Frog, designated 'for cutlasses'. Date seems around 1860ish give or take.

By the way, I think your site is very user friendly. Seems to work much better than many and up to date, a rarity!!!
