This Chamelot-Delvigne system six-shot revolver is an 11 mm centre fire (obsolete cartridge). The sergeant's version had a plain cylinder, differentiating it from the officer's fluted one. These weapons would have been carried throughout the old French empire, viz Indo-China and Africa, possibly seeing some service in the Great War as well. The bore is in excellent shape, as is the action apart from the broken return spring, and all the serial numbers on the piece are matching. However, the return spring is broken. This must have been a real manstopper in its day! |
