This badge was authorised in 1943 and is 70 mm long. It would appear to be in its original jeweller's box and is marked on the back 'GEMSCO / A.G.O. G-2 / 1/20 10K G.R.' which translates as 10 carat rolled gold finish, ie a thin layer of gold on a bronze base. The central acorn is a separate item and would appear to be of silver or white gold. The box is covered in a mock snakeskin paper finish with a small gilt crown embossed to the lid. The badge is in excellent condition and there is some minor wear to the hinge at the reverse of the box, though it is otherwise in very good condition. A rare discovery in England!
