Title 45 calibre percussion pocket pistol, double barrelled
Nationality French
Period c 1850
Sold

Nice example of a French self-defence pocket pistol, which packs a fairly hefty punch, with a second shot in case of a misunderstanding with the first! Good quality burr walnut grip, damascus barrels and reasonable quality engraving to trigger guard, butt cap and frame.

There is no half cock on this pistol. It would appear to function on only one setting, ie at full cock. It was almost certainly made for a left-handed person as firing it with a right hand presents a minor problem in switching triggers which is not encountered when using the left hand. This is still clean enough internally to be an extremely reliable and effective weapon at close quarters.

testimonials

Just a brief note to confirm that the sabre has been delivered today. All is as it should be. I have to say I’m impressed with the ‘custom’ packaging, obviously essential in your line of business. I have made a very quick inspection of the sword & it fully lives up to your accurate description, very pleased with the purchase.
