This badge was worn as an entry pass and identification by dockyard workers, in this case the Deutschwerker Yards at Kiel. This yard would have primarily been responsible for U- and E-boat construction at this point. It is maker marked Hoffstatter Bonn on the reverse.

These rarely come on the market, as, at the end of the war, most of this stuff wound up in the nearest dust bin, with only a few old veterans hanging on to them.

It is in excellent condition with most of its original grey paintwork. The serial number is black painted on a punched field and the piece is made of some sort of pot metal.
