Title Lancer pompom, other ranks
Nationality British
Period c 1900
Sold

These were worn by the lancer regiments chapzkas, which, along with the base colour of the mitreboard and the plume, distinguished the regiments one from another. It was worn under the plume socket on the facing cloth of the top of the helmet.

It is a little soiled with age, but the colours are still fairly bright and it is made of wool over a cork and linen base.
