This is the second model WBC for the army. It was introduced in 1940, replacing the one-piece aluminium type. This one is made of die-struck steel and has extensive traces of the green paint finish on the reverse and faint ones on the front. There is no maker mark. The Luftwaffe and navy had buckles of similar make. The condition shows service wear and minor bruising overall, but the definition on the face is still nice and crisp. |
