This pair of iron-mounted pocket pistols (length 7 1/8 inches) would appear to have been retailed, and probably made, by Pindar as they have London proofs. However, as Pindar disappears from the trade directories circa 1759 and these pistols date from some 20 years later, there is a conundrum here. Possibly his widow continued the business? They are plain, but of extremely good quality and are in pretty good shape for their age with no serious burring of any screw heads and a nice old dirty grey patina to the metal with some darker patination here and there. They have waterproof pans and top snap safety catches. One barrel is loose and unscrews easily; the other one is stuck fast with dried grease etc. Both actions are nice and sharp.
