Title Stahlhelm buckle, third pattern, 'Front Heil' variety
Nationality German
Period c 1930
Sold

This two-piece buckle is a third pattern, Weimar period item. The Stahlhelm were a veterans' organisation which participated in the right and centre-right opposition to the Communists in the street battles in Germany throughout the Weimar period. The Nazi party took them over in 1935, the later buckles usually having a swastika motif.

The sword came in untouched [pristine] condiotion. Thank you very much. I am looking forward to next time.

Found the item a little on the expensive side and a bit disappointed that you were unwilling to bend a bit on the price of the Officer's Tunic Eagle (half the fun of buying, after all, is the haggling), but impressed by the speed of delivery and the quality of the item. Was well worth it in the long run...
