Title Weimar cavalry officer's sword
Nationality German
Period c 1930
Sold

This sabre, marked Alcoso (Alex Coppel) at the forte, has 95% original gilt finish to the hilt, with branch of service indicated by crossed sabres on the langet. The scabbard has perhaps 50% original paint finish over gun-blue base. The grip is plastic wrap over wooden core with gilt wiring and the blade plain with all its nickel silver finish.

One red eye in the hilt is a replacement, not quite matching in colour to the original.

I received the sword and belt this afternoon. Always a bit of a risk buying this sort of thing online but I'm very pleased with the quality of the sword and scabbard...
