The HAC was founded in 1537 by Henry VIII and is arguably the oldest of the London regiments. They still have their original headquarters (with extensive grounds) in the City of London. They functioned as an officers' training corps in WW1 and also served with two battalions on the Western Front. This is a one-piece die-struck gilding metal badge with a brass slider brazed to the reverse of the flames. It is a little worn on the highlights, but not excessively. |
