Title Prussian general's epaulettes, Hohenzollern family provenance
Nationality German
Period c 1914
Price £400.00

This is a pair of full general's epaulettes for wear on the field grey tunic, introduced in 1907. These formerly belonged to General Wilhelm von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, Prince von Hohenzollern (1864-1927). The twin stars and triple braided bullion cords indicate his rank. The black fleck on the silver bullion indicates Prussian service.

Each measures 2.5" across by nearly 4.25" long. The condition is near mint - I've never seen a pair of general's epaulettes before in such nice shape.

These were bought by an old friend from Schloss Sigmaringen, seat of the Princess Sigmaringen-Hohenzollern, a cadet branch of the royal Prussian house. There is no paperwork to prove this, only my and my very reliable and reputable friend's word for it!

The bayonet arrived yesterday in good order. Fits my musket perfectly. Quite pleased, and many thanks for a very satisfactory transaction.
