Fascist Fencing League lapel pin - Italian
This fine pin (2.4cm long) commemorates the Olympic Games of 1936. It shows an epee and a sabre on a shield, together with the fasces, the whole surmounted by a knight's helmet with the Italian colours in plumes behind. It is maker marked on the reverse 'Gerosa Milano'.

9th International Railway Congress lapel badge - Italian
This nicely made enamelled badge would have been given to all the railway personnel attending the congress which was held in Rome in April 1922. It is almost certainly of die-struck silver (unmarked). The central motif is a splendid eagle with the coat of arms of the house of Savoy on its breast in white and red enamel.

Helmet plate - Italian
This is perhaps a commemorative device, possibly indicating an award of some sort, which could have been placed on the Adrian helmet that the Italians wore in WW1. It was a direct copy of the French helmet. I think it is Italian because of the crown and the general design has a marked Italian feel.

Blackshirt other ranks kepi insignia - Italian
This is the classic Blackshirt symbol, showing the Roman lictor's fasces, the bundle of rods with the axe tied in, the bound rods symbolising the unity of the republic and the axe symbolising the executive authority. Blackshirt units actually fought in North Africa alongside the regular Italian army. Truly a little Neoclassical gem.
