militaria item Two Schupo Litzen, one cotton and one wool
- German
These are two different examples of Schutzpolizei collar tabs, introduced in the uniform changes of 1936. The Schupo were a truly national force, as opposed to the Gendarmerie/Landespolizei (countryside) and Gemeindepolizei (town police). They, like the Ordnungspolizei, lived in barracks, a little bit like the Guardia Civil of Franco's Spain.

militaria item PAK gunner's collar patch, 1944 model
- German
This is the economy version of BeVo type material, worn on the last pattern tunic of 1944. The pink piping denotes a PAK gunner (anti-tank), who shared the same piping colour as their Panzer colleagues.

militaria item SA sports arm band
- German
These were worn by SA sports umpires, time keepers and track officials at the official sports events of the Party. The RZM paper label dates it as being probably post 1936. The sword through the swastika echoes the SA sports badge, which has a similar motif.

militaria item Customs officer's shoulder strap
- German
This epaulette is for the rank of Zollbetriebs-Assistent in the German Customs. The Gothic lettering RFV stands for Reichsfinanzverwaltung, the National Finance Administration. It is made of a mixture of bottle green cloth and bright and dulled aluminium braid. It is in good condition and there is the correct silver button with the piece.

militaria item Schutzmannscaft NCO's collar patches
- German
These were worn by the irregular units raised by the German army as auxilliaries for service in WW2, on the Russian front, mainly from nationalist Baltic peoples and Ukrainians, to assist the SS and police in anti-partisan operations. For fear of Russian discovery after the war, little of this Schuma material survived.

militaria item Luftwaffe major's epaulettes, admin branch
- German
This pair is an excellent example of overcoat epaulettes for a Luftwaffe major working in the administrative department. Note that they are bright, indicative of home service rather than the foreign service variety which were normally dulled down for field use.

militaria item Luftwaffe quilted winter waistcoat
- German
Size 46, LFBA marked (Luftwaffe Feld Bekleidungs Amt). This was a warm winter body vest for Luftwaffe crews, principally ground crews, I suspect, as air crew would have had their leather, fleece lined, zip up suits for winter flying.

The parcel has arrived - at the time you indicated.

The sword lives up to expectations and looks even better than on the website. The detail and etching is superb.

Thanks so much for your help and the extra information.
