Title Carte de visite, British officer, Queen's Own Corps of Guides
Nationality Indian
Period c 1890
Sold

Nice example of an officer (in undress uniform) from a crack cavalry regiment (silver chains on full dress leather crossbelt, with pickers and chains, only worn by QOCG). Karachi (where the photographer operated) is in Sind province on the coast by the border with Baluchistan. (The attribution to QOCG is tentative.)

The 3 medals have just arrived safely - very interesting. (From your description I was expecting ribbon to be dreadful; personally, I think that the "Russian Front" is beautifully 'aged'.)
