Royal Navy document box - British
This little tin box would have held a Royal Navy warrant document for Warrant Officers. As far as I know they were introduced into RN service in about 1820. The Admiralty seal is impressed in the body of the box, which, along with the lid, are both constucted of tin with lead solder seams.
