Title Gurkha kukri
Nationality Indian
Period 1943
Sold

This is a locally made issue piece, with a broad arrow punched above the 1943 date at the forte of the blade - it is quite uncommon to find WW2 issue pieces that are dated. The top of the scabbard has been modified to fit directly onto a Sam Brown or Webb belt, indicating possible officer use.

The hilt is rosewood with iron mounts. The scabbard is wood bound with calf leather.

Just to let you know that the bayonet arrived safely this morning by Royal Mail. I am delighted with it and it will be put to very good use at some forthcoming events.

Found the item a little on the expensive side and a bit disappointed that you were unwilling to bend a bit on the price of the Officer's Tunic Eagle (half the fun of buying, after all, is the haggling), but impressed by the speed of delivery and the quality of the item. Was well worth it in the long run...
