Title Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers busby bomb
Nationality British
Period c 1881 on
Price £40.00

In 1881 the regimental numbering system was altered and two regiments (27th & 108th) were amalgamated into the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (a distinguished Northern Irish regiment). The busby bomb was introduced in 1865, but, as this badge is not numbered, it is post-1881.

This is made of gilding metal and has copper lugs on the reverse, typical of late 19th and early 20th century production techniques. The condition is excellent, but again ammonia and soap could be gainfully employed!

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)
