This coin was probably minted to commemorate the arrival of the Federes from Brest and Marseilles at the end of July 1792. It was issued by Monneron Freres of Paris and was valid currency in the Departements of Paris, Rhone, Loire, Gard (as stamped on the edge) at the time of the French Revolution.

This award was instituted in April 1915, some two million being awarded to the French Army up to 1920. Many thousands were also awarded to Allied troops. The bronze star denotes Brigade or Battalion mention in despatches.

This bronze medal (3.5 x 5 cms) was struck to commemorate the founding of the National Guard in Lyons, similar to the National Guard in Paris. 'Federation Martiale' with 'Temple de la Concorde' below is on one side, with the coat of arms of the city of Lyons and 'Force Union et Prosperite' on the other side, with 'XXX MAI MDCCXC' for 1790.

This is the commemorative St Helena medal which Napoleon ordered to be struck and issued to all his veterans on his death. On the reverse is: 'Campagnes de 1792 a 1815' around 'A ses companions de gloire sa derniere pensee St Helene 5 Mai 1821' (the date of his death). A bust of the emperor is on the obverse.

militaria item 1859 Campaign of Italy medal

This is Napoleon III's medal for the 1859 campaign, mostly fought in northern Italy against Austrian troops. On the reverse is 'Campagne d'Italie' with the names of six battles, including Magenta and Solferino, perhaps the most famous one. The artist's signature is below the emperor's bust, which is surrounded by the logo 'Napoleon III empereur'.

This silver award, struck by the Ministry of the Interior for Land Gallantry (eg coal mines, etc), comes with an original, but fragmentary, silk ribbon. The medal is 30mm in diameter. The inscription on the back is: 'MINISTERE DE L'INTERIEUR' around 'ACTES DE DEVOUMENT' in the centre.
