This order was awarded to Catholic civilians and high ranking officials. It is a Croatian Fascist Party (Ustaschi) award (hence the raised 'U' in the centre), rarely seen on the market as at the end of the war anyone wearing this sort of thing would have rapidly dumped it!
The ribbon would have been red and white in a triangular format, but this is no longer extant.
There is some enamel damage to the reverse of the cross. However, it has not been re-enamelled or restored in any way; it is just that the surface has split slightly and the silver beneath the damage has tarnished, giving a blotchy image.
